History
Emberley's Transport was established in 1956 under the ownership of Randolph Emberley. Mr. Emberley was driver, salesman, mechanic and president while his wife Ella was accountant and controller of the business. Initially, there was a used Fargo truck with an home made wooden box that traveled the newly constructed road between Grand Bank and St. John's. It was a arduous 10 hour trip but at the time was more effective than the coastal boats who visited the area once a week. Once the coastal service was retired, the trucking industry began to boom and Mr. Emberley purchased more trucks and hired more drivers. During the 1970's there was a move away from the smaller trucks to tractor trailers.

Today the company is controlled by Gary and George Emberley with a fleet of more than 50 vehicles. They now service the Atlantic provinces and are the only freight connection between St. Pierre and Newfoundland.
